A Little Trade Show Secret That's Working for Me
I've discovered a nice little "marketing tool" that is working out well for me for trade shows and general business. If your company attends trade shows as a vendor and needs to produce demo products, this could very well work out for you.
My business makes many types of custom products (mugs, shirts, plaques, home decor, etc.) and I need to make quite a few of these items for an upcoming trade show. I really didn't want to have to make generic products for fictitious companies (ex: a plaque for ABC Marketing) that would be useless after the show and would probably get scratched and beat up in boxes before the next one. I came up with the idea of posting my list of needed demo products on a web page and advertising that anyone can get one of these products fully customized for their business at a nice discount. Everyone involved benefits from this situation. The customer gets a product at a discounted price, and they also get their business exposed at the trade show when their mug or plaque is sitting at my booth. They get the product shipped to them to keep after the show, and I get "demo products" that are not generic. I also get to recover some of the trade show expenses. Not a bad deal!
